We’re looking for an amazing Generalist HR Assistant!

What we are looking for:

The Generalist HR Assistant will be responsible for providing a pragmatic and pro-active day-to-day general administrative function within the People and Wellbeing Service (HR). The successful candidate will be highly organised and be an excellent administrator, with some acquired office experience ideally within an HR environment.

Working in HR means no day will ever be the same as the one before; not only will you support the People and Wellbeing Lead in running a successful HR service, you will be responding to HR queries, dealing with new starters and representing HR at meetings just to name a few!  Having a ‘can do’ attitude and the ability to manage your own workload with the flexibility to adapt quickly to different situations is essential.

This role will suit a candidate who can demonstrate the following:

  • Experience of working within an office based administrative department
  • Basic knowledge of HR policies and practice
  • Excellent organisational skill and the ability manage conflicting priorities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, with a strong attention to detail
  • Understanding of the confidentiality requirements when within a HR Team
  • Good IT skills including a good knowledge of Microsoft office applications – Word/Excel
  • Is pro-active, enthusiastic and self- motivated
  • Is adaptable to change


The Generalist HR Assistant will be supported day to day by the operational guidance and leadership of the People and Wellbeing Lead.


The successful candidate(s) will receive appropriate training and support to excel in the role!

Hours:                          30 hours per week

Pay:                               £18,000 - 20,000 pro rata
