Our Level 2 Award in Independent Advocacy, runs in line with the City & Guilds handbook.
If you are not currently working as an advocate, but interested in learning more about advocacy, then the best qualification/training to take would be the Level 2 Award, this will give you an introduction to advocacy. This unit aims to provide learners with an understanding of what Independent Advocacy is and the principles which underpin good practice.
The four learning outcomes are:
1 - Understand the Principles of Independent Advocacy
2 - Understand the Role of the Independent Advocate
3 - Understand Communication Methods used in Independent Advocacy
4 - Understand Equality, Diversity and Inclusion
This unit can be taken by those who have no previous independent advocacy experience, administration staff, people who work alongside advocacy, people who want to have a general understanding of independent advocacy or who wish to become an advocate.
This training can either be assessed or non assessed.
For those learners who wish to go on and achieve the qualification, they must successfully complete one assignment for the mandatory unit. You will go on to work with an assessor and have access to our onlline portfolio.
